Privacy Policy – NetCompanion

1. General information

Protecting your personal data is important to me. This privacy policy informs you about which data is processed in the app NetCompanion and for what purpose.

The app is intended for users of a Netatmo weather station. Use of the app is not possible without a Netatmo account.

2. Controller

3. Which data is processed?

a) Netatmo credentials

NetCompanion uses the OAuth2 process to log in to Netatmo:

• Login occurs directly via the Netatmo servers
• NetCompanion receives no access to your password
• After successful login, Netatmo provides an access token

This access token:

• is stored exclusively locally on your device
• is securely stored in the Apple Keychain
• is used only for reading your sensor data

No personal data is stored or processed on our own servers.

b) Sensor data

The app only displays sensor data from your Netatmo weather station and modules
(e.g. temperature, humidity, CO₂ values).

• The data is retrieved directly from the Netatmo servers
• There is no permanent storage of this data by the developer

4. Data sharing

There is no sharing of your data with third parties.

5. Analytics & tracking

NetCompanion uses:

• ❌ no tracking
• ❌ no advertising networks
• ❌ no analytics tools (e.g. Firebase, Google Analytics)

6. In-app purchases & subscriptions

The service RevenueCat is used to handle in-app purchases and subscriptions (premium features).

RevenueCat processes subscription-related information (e.g. purchase status, subscription duration, renewal status), but no personal sensor or account data.

The payment itself is processed by Apple as the contracting party. NetCompanion does not receive any payment data (e.g. credit card information).

7. Widgets

The app offers iOS widgets.

• Widgets display current readings from your weather station
• The data comes from the app or from a fresh fetch from Netatmo
• There is no additional data storage by the widgets

8. Data security

• Access tokens are securely stored in the Apple Keychain
• The app uses only encrypted connections (HTTPS)

9. Your rights

You have the right at any time to:

• Delete the local data by removing the app

Since no personal data is stored, uninstalling the app is usually sufficient.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy may be adjusted if app features or legal requirements change.

The current version is always available on the NetCompanion GitHub Pages site.
